Guys!! Rock hard abs have been a goal of mine ever since I let my track body go. I’ve been searching far and wide to get something that really attacks my core, and I think I’ve finally landed on a routine that does just that. And not only that, these exercises are fun and something I get excited to do at the end of my workout.
Planks are not only an incredible core stabilization exercise, they also come in a plethora of variations that you can use to get great core activation, and to keep your workout interesting!
The transformation I’ve seen in my own abs since I’ve added planks into my routine is so exciting and wonderful, I just had to share the magic with you. Not too toot my own horn, but not only are my abs way stronger, tight, lean, solid, rock hard, oh so punchable; but, I’ve actually been noticing how I can activate and use my core to enhance other exercises that I didn’t quite feel or understand before I started practicing my planks.
Today, I want to share just a few of my favorites.
The workout: complete 3 sets of 10 reps of each of the plank exercises below to work towards your rock hard abs.
Remember friends: these exercises are more active variations of your standard plank. This means they will present different challenges in remaining sturdy in that plank position that they all have in common. The arms, legs, and core will need to remain tight, stable, and activated to remain balanced throughout the exercise. P.S. No cheating, keep that bum tucked!!
This is a pretty challenging routine. If you can’t make it through all the exercises or reps- modify it until you can complete them. Work up to finishing the whole routine. So, come on, get moving! (I know you want rock hard abs too.)
