I want to start off by saying excellent work to all the challengers out there! I am so proud of all of your progress. Keep up that hard work, it will be well worth it!! 

What an amazing challenge we had. With 147 total participants, we made a whole lot of progress in just 8 weeks! You owe it all to yourselves for that hard work and dedication!

Fresh Start Challenge- Week #7

Greetings Fresh Start Challengers! 

What a week, Week #7 was! I am so proud of each of your hard work! As the challenge draws to a close, it seems the workouts posted are only getting bigger and better! We hope that you are even more excited about getting fit than when you started. 

We are finally in our last week of the Fresh Start Challenge- Week #8! Let's leave it all out there. If you have started dropping the ball on workouts lately, remember it's never too late to try again. Wipe off that dust and get out there- you don't want to miss out on getting a chance for that last weekly prize, or our 3 grand prizes we will be drawing at the end of next week!

Week #7- In Review

Great work out there Fresh Start Challengers! We know the hard work is paying off, so don't let up the good fight- keep going! Your health is worth it.....and look at all those smiles in Week #7, it can't be that bad, right?! 


It's just a few days that stand between you and the finish line. That's just 3x30 mins of working out. I know you can do it! 

 

PK Tip: Make sure you are using the right form in the weight room. Without proper form, you won't be able to make the same gains, and will be more prone to injury. Do it the right way, and if you don't know what that is, look it up, or ask a professional!

Fresh Start Challenge- Week #6

Greetings Fresh Start Challengers! 

We had an amazing Week #6 of the challenge! Way to put your hard work out there. I hope you are starting to see some changes whether physical changes, changes in your ability, changes in your motivation, changes in your attitude, in your thinking about yourself- whether big or small, any change is a big deal. Don't forget to reward yourself, give yourself a pat on the back along the way, let yourself dream and make new goals as you progress.  

142 participants are posting incredible workouts every week, and healthier everyday because of it. It's Week #7- this is it, we're getting down to it! Do what you can, let's finish out these last two weeks good and strong. Don't miss out on your chance for prizes!

PK Tip: Don't forget to recover. Take time to fit a cool down in. Transition into much slower cardio and some stretching to finish off your workout!

Fresh Start Challenge- Week #5

Greetings Fresh Start Challengers! 

Week #5 of the challenge was pretty awesome! You guys are really getting some great workouts in and some great stuff done, which is so fun to see. 

143 participants are getting after it, and getting healthy in the challenge! It's finally Week #6, it's a new fresh week to succeed, so let's put our heart and soul into these last three weeks- get the most out of them that you can.

Week #5- A Week in Review

Great workouts! With a week full of a million excuses- sicknesses, freezing cold, rainy weather- the Fresh Start challengers came back even stronger with creativity and determination! Your workout ethic was admirable this past week! 


Incredible Week #5! Let's make Week #6 our best yet! Only a few more weeks to make it count. 

 

PK Tip: For the best results with a cross fit or circuit type workout, choose an arm band HR monitor (we suggest Scosche RHYTHYM+), and get a phone arm band, so you can keep your phone tucked away and don't have to worry about moving it with you as you go.

Fresh Start Challenge- Week #4

Greetings Fresh Start Challengers! 

Week #4 of the challenge is already over! It's crazy to think that we are already past the half way point of this challenge. If you are sticking with us, congrats! You are turning those New Years Resolutions into habits with each and every workout you post. And that is awesome!!

142 participants are live in the challenge- and we are seeing some really fun stuff. Keep up the great work everyone- we love seeing what you're up to!

Week #4- In Review

Week #4 was great! We're seeing lots of sun out there in the app! As for here in So-cal, looks like it's about time to crack out the sun tan lotion again! It was encouraging to get a view of people's everyday workouts and adventures this past week. 

 Lot's of great walks in the great outdoors! Just a few of our favorites were @jcorpdc, @wendymrn, @ChristianBrazo, @katrinamcgrouther, @billy, @wolfbuehler, @kimberlyfossheineman, @Christine, and @debdowning. 

@Shahrokh, and @Chrisroo shared their happy dogs with us! Woking out with dogs can be great, if you need some inspiration just take your dog out for something fun to do! 

@sclay and @pvaldivia getting out for some nice runs. And @Dan getting in a good workout inside at the Village Fitness gym! 


Amazing job in Week #4 everybody. Let's make Week #5 even better than last week! 

 

PK Tip: Finish your workouts with a healthy snack. Ideally 4:1- carbs to protein (like an apple and peanut butter). A big part of making gains, is making sure your body has what it needs for recovery.

Week #3 of the challenge flew by! We now have 136 participants in the challenge- posting amazing workouts daily! Great work everyone, your hard work inspires me to stay active. 

Week #4 is well underway, so let's get after it! We are almost halfway through the challenge, so now's the time we really have to start working to keep up all of the hard work!

Challenge Week #4- in Review

Below are just a few of the fun workouts shared in the community this week. The Fresh Start Challenge has been filled with vibrant and adventurous workouts- as well as some serious hard work! Be encouraged by your fellow community, that's what they're here for!!

PK Tip: Use the buddy system- find a friend that you can do a workout with this week. Go for a walk, bike ride, run, or do a circuit at the gym! Somedays you just don't want to do it alone.

Fresh Start Challenge- Week #2

Hello Fresh Start Challengers! 

What a great week of the challenge! And our fun is only growing- we now have 136 participants in the challenge. It seems like everyone really got into the swing of things in Week #2- we had way too many fun posts to share them all, and some of you are already done with Week #3 workouts! 

For those of you who are just joining us, welcome to the challenge, we are so happy you joined. Don't forget, with Week #3 comes a brand new chance to get entered into the drawing! We still have 4 days left this week- more than enough to get your workouts in.

Challenge Week #2- in Review

How fun it was to see the creative and inspiring workouts posted within the Fresh Start Challenge group! It's encouraging to watch fellow challengers having so much fun in their workouts, and inspiring to work alongside the dedication that you all put in day after day. I am inspired daily by each of your workouts. 

@wolfbuehler and @kaylamc05 added a whole new level of workouts this week to the challenge- races!! 

We had a lot of indoor workouts down in So-cal due to the rain wonderfully depicted by @pomonafarmers workout 'Buckets of Rain'. @itslucille, @kimberlyfossheinemann, @monamikhail23, and jcorpdc share their indoor workouts! 

There were also some exciting hikes and bikes shared this week! A few of our favorites were posted by mtbdean, @JessicaLuchtenburg, @tomhunt, pvaldivia, and @Christine.

PK Tip:

Create a consistent schedule for yourself so that you know exactly when you're working out and what you're going to do. If you have a plan you're more likely to get that workout in.

Greetings Fresh Start Challengers! 

Welcome to the first weekly review of the 2017 Fresh Start Challenge! We had a great first week of the challenge, with 124 participants up and running on the app! What a strong start to the challenge it was.

If you weren’t able to meet the Week #1 challenge, this week is a brand new chance. Don’t forget that challenge goals start over each Sunday, so now's the time to get moving!

Challenge Week #1 in Review

What a joy to watch the PK Fitness community come alive  for the new year with both new and old users, along with encouragement and support amongst challengers. As you are all aware, support is an important part of regular exercise and accountability, so make sure to follow your fellow challengers, comment, like, and encourage them in their efforts!  

It has also been so fun to see the variety of workouts posted just in this first week. Many of you started both the year and challenge right - by working out! Just a few of our favorites included @tomhunt, @pvaldivia, @Wolf.Buehler, and @gmwood

And of course @healthymfb, @jtavenner, and @tabvdeen have the right idea- working out together! We encourage you to find a friend to do workouts with. 


We are off to a great start! Let’s keep up the great work! 

 

PK Tip:

Invite a friend to the challenge! People who workout with a friend, workout more, have more fun, are more motivated, and always have a spotter in the weight room! On the challenge home page, there is now an Invite button in the upper right hand corner.
